For all you can drink cruise - find yourself a Carnival Booze Cruise special (themed sailings). And don't try sneaking alcohol on Carnival ships - the line's policy is pretty harsh on that one. You may buy and drink almost all the quantity, applicable with the "rules of civility and decent behaviour", but only at the on-board bars-lounges-restaurants.

The new Carnival lines alcohol and beverage policy isn't a variation of the America 1930's prohibition law. The Carnival line beverage policy is created, as they say, "to control the liquor consumption of minors and the quantities consumed that lead to the disruptive behavior of others on board", meaning - to avoid riots on-board. So, the specifics.

Don't sneak alcohol on Carnival ships. Instead, you may:

  • bring max 12 bottles /cans (max 20oz each) of non-alcoholic beverages, ONLY in the carry-on luggage, on each embarkation
  • bring 1 wine/champagne bottle (750ml) per 21+ yo passenger, ONLY ONCE - on you first day embarkation,
  • or simply don't drink on-board, if the prices don't suit you.

PROHIBITED On Board

  • bringing alcohol on a Carnival cruise. Exceptions - passengers 21+ yo are allowed to bring 1 bottle (750ml) of wine /champagne per guest, ONLY DURING THE FIRST DAY EMBARKATION, and only in the carry-on luggage.
  • large coolers. Exceptions - small coolers of max size 12x12x12 in (30x30x30 cm) as carry-on luggage, for non-alcoholic beverages and/or medications.
  • selling or serving alcohol to guests under 21 yo. Carnival reserves the right to refuse to sale alcohol to anyone.
  • buying alcohol for underaged passengers.
  • Drinking Alcohol On-Board - min 21 years of age for purchasing /consumption of alcoholic beverages in all bars-lounges-shops.

Purchasing Alcohol in Ports of Call and the On-Board Shops - the alcoholic beverages will be stored and retained on-board.

  • Any violation of the above regulations result in confiscation of the hooch, which discarded properly without compensation.
  • Adults with a record of sneaking alcohol on Carnival ships, buying it for consumption by underage passengers, or with other regular violations of the line's beverage policy may end up even with an "early" no-compensation disembarkation.
  • All "illegal" bottles/cans PP (sealed, or unopened), will be confiscated and stored for safekeeping until the morning of the last debarkation (at the end). Unsealed prohibited liquids will be discarded, without any compensation.
